Cricket World Cup 2015: Top Wicket-Takers, Scorers and Best Bowling Figures
Afghanistan grabbed their first ever World Cup victory with the one-wicket win over Scotland on Thursday, led by a gutsy 96 runs from Samiullah Shenwari.
He posted one of the day's memorable performances, backed up by Shapoor Zadran, who finished with bowling figures of four for 38.
Elsewhere, Tillakaratne Dilshan's powerful, unbeaten 161 gained Sri Lanka's second win of the tournament. Bangladesh were the unfortunate party on the end of Dilshan's dominance, and indeed, his fruitful partnership with Kumar Sangakkara. Sri Lanka won by 92 runs, giving themselves added hope of a route to the latter stages.
Read on to find out how Day 12 affected the individual performance charts.

Day 12's Standout Performers
7 of 7
Shenwari Inspires Afghanistan to First World Cup Win
Samiullah Shenwari's match-leading 96 runs thrust him into the spotlight on Day 12, providing a vital stand en route to Afghanistan's first victory in World Cup cricket.
It would have been easy for Shenwari to fold, too. The likes of Nawroz Mangal (7), Asghar Stanikzai (4), Mohammad Nabi (1) and Afsar Zazai (0) failed to significantly aid the side's score, making it appear unlikely Afghanistan would put up the 210 needed to win.
Shenwari added nearly half the runs himself, confidently striding to seven fours and five sixes. He averages 58.66 across three matches, the most prolific of Afghanistan's selection by far. Disappointingly, opener Javed Ahmadi is closest with an average of 25.33.
These numbers highlight Shenwari's importance in a match that will be forever remembered by the Afghanistan supporters.
Dilshan and Sangakkara Key for Improving Sri Lanka
Tillakaratne Dilshan's unbeaten 161 not only yielded a simple victory for Sri Lanka over Bangladesh, it pushed him to being the fourth most prolific batsman at the tournament so far. Granted, a combined total of 24 in Sri Lanka's previous two matches is poor, but he assumed a leading role in an improving team performance on Thursday.
OptaJim highlighted how his partnership with Kumar Sangakkara is likely to be vital moving forwards:
"6 - Dilshan and Sangakkara today became the sixth pair to put on 5,000 aggregate runs in ODIs. Their average stand is 52. Teamwork. #SLvBAN
— OptaJim (@OptaJim) February 26, 2015
"
Dilshan now averages 92.50 at the World Cup, bettering Sangakkara's 75.50, per ESPN Cricinfo. This is the seventh highest average of the competition, providing Sri Lanka with the firepower they need to progress.
The output of this duo has thrust them to second in Pool A. Bangladesh's bowlers couldn't find a way around a pair who aggressively sought runs and defended at the right time. They are picking their shots correctly, something which was absent at the beginning of the tournament, galvanising the team's hopes with an increased focus.
