Arsenal Transfer News: Paul Pogba Mega Bid Expected, Fresh Paulo Dybala Rumours
Arsene Wenger is ready to "step up his interest" in much-wanted Juventus star Paul Pogba, according to David Wright of the Express.
Wright believes Barcelona's desire to snap up Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin "comes as a blow to Arsenal," who need to offer £80 million to lure Pogba back to England. The former Manchester United midfielder is also linked with his former club and Premier League leaders Chelsea in the aforementioned report.
Wenger has proven he is willing to spend big on individuals during the last two summers. He dropped £42.4 million on Mesut Ozil in 2013 before a deal of around £35 million was agreed for Alexis Sanchez last summer. Whether or not Wenger is happy to pay a near-world-record fee for Pogba, though, remains to be seen.

Mino Raiola, Pogba's agent, recently indicated that his client could be purchased with a monster bid. However, he suggests a world-record sum of over £85 million would be needed to secure the 21-year-old's future.
"If the right time comes this summer, then it will happen," said Raiola, via Telefoot (h/t Kieran Gill of the MailOnline). "If it is not the right time, he could stay for another year or two. He will beat the transfer record. If there is one Mona Lisa in the world, and she is for sale, it will be a record price."
B/R UK's Ryan Bailey and Jonathan Johnson previously considered whether Pogba could become the first triple-figure footballer:
Arsenal's midfield certainly needs tightening up. Pogba is an all-rounder, someone who can pass the ball confidently, score terrific goals and break up play through the centre. He may also feel he has a point to prove in the Premier League after leaving United without being given a run in the first-team by then-manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Sunday Express (h/t Colin Harvey of the Daily Star) suggests Wenger may have decent funds to spend on a player of this ilk after losing ground in the race for Palermo hitman Paulo Dybala. Arsenal have "fallen away" from the chasing pack—which reportedly consists of United, Chelsea and Manchester City—according to Harvey.
B/R UK's Bailey and Matteo Bonetti recently considered Dybala's transfer, among other potentially huge summer deals:
The 21-year-old forward scored his 12th goal of the Serie A season on Sunday during Palermo's 2-1 defeat to Lazio, per WhoScored.com.
Opta's Tim Simon considered whether or not Dybala will go for the £30 million outlined by Simon Jones of the MailOnline:
Arsenal fans will be enjoying the form of striker Olivier Giroud—who has scored five in his last seven appearances, per WhoScored—but will also crave a more prolific frontman to provide a greater chance of success. Giroud's highest Premier League tally in one season is 16, not enough when the Gunners need someone to be heading toward the 30 mark to push for the title.

Dybala is underlining his talent on a weekly basis. He possesses a natural craft that is endearing to fans, the ability to create something out of very little. Although Arsenal fans will be dreaming of luring Pogba to the Emirates, it's a player of Dybala's value who appears the more likely acquisition at this stage.
