Perrantes Injured In Collision

Sunday, Feb. 22

Virginia sophomore guard London Perrantes suffered a scary injury Sunday, crashing into teammate Malcolm Brogdon and sustaining a massive cut on his face.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch's Mike Barber and the Daily Press' Norm Wood provided some of the details:

A snapshot of Perrantes being tended to can be seen here (Warning: Image contains blood). The Basketball Predictions Blog added a photo of Perrantes when he returned to the sidelines:

BrogdonPerrantes' junior backcourt mateleft momentarily, but as Barber and The Washington Post noted, he later returned to the court:

UVA's men's basketball Twitter account passed along a comment from coach Tony Bennett after Virginia's win on Perrantes

Cavalier Insider provided video of the post game press conference with Bennett:

Virginia, which entered the day No. 2 in the country, is already playing without star forward Justin Anderson, who fractured a finger earlier this month. The Hoos have the talent to make a deep run in the NCAA tournament, but they just need to get healthy by March.

Bennett will obviously be hoping the injury to his super steady point guard doesn't prove to be as serious as it first looked.
