2015 NFL Mock Draft: Full 1st-Round Predictions After Day 2 of Scouting Combine
The Underwear Olympics NFL Scouting Combine is finally upon us.
It's the one time per year where how football players look in tights or how quickly a player who will never run 40 yards in a season runs a 40-yard dash trumps actual skills on the field. It's a wonderful time where we assess the body language of just-out-of-college kids answering media questions and snoop for juicy tidbits from player interviews with teams.
Anonymous League Executive will rival Media Reports and Sources Say as the most powerful person in sports for the next few days.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
While we're being tongue-in-cheek, it's impossible to discount the combine's importance. The yearly pilgrimage to Indianapolis is the only time in the pre-draft process when every team and major prospect are in the same place at the same time.
Even in the information age, where a deluge of clips are just a click away, there's something to be said for a one-stop shop of information.
Of course, we're still in the information-gathering process of this year's combine. Interviews and media sessions have been the most talked-about events so far, with measurements and a few offensive linemen workouts close behind.
How has that affected the first round? Let's take a quick look, all while highlighting some noteworthy combine takeaways.

Combine Notes
Marcus Mariota Making an Impression

We already know Mariota will try to prove himself physically during the weekend by throwing despite still recovering from an AC joint injury in his throwing shoulder. In the days leading up to Saturday's anticipated showdown with Jameis Winston, though, Mariota has taken to impressing teams in the meeting room.
Louis Riddick of ESPN gave Mariota the highest-possible compliment Thursday after speaking with teams:
Anyone with even a modicum of NFL knowledge knows Russell Wilson is the gold standard to which teams are currently comparing quarterbacks. Wilson, who speaks in rah-rah soundbites and is perhaps the least offensive superstar in the league right now (in a good way), is exactly the type of player teams want under center.
That Mariota, by all accounts an excellent (if quiet) leader at Oregon, is flashing those traits can only boost his draft stock.
Beyond his rushing ability, Mariota's main draw to franchises is his maturity. Unlike Winston, there are zero character concerns regarding the reigning Heisman winner. He was consistently praised by teammates and coaches alike at Oregon.
NFL teams seeing it for themselves and buying in was key.
Oftentimes supposedly nice and mature players can walk into a combine meeting and walk out with an anonymous executive talking about him being "fake" or putting on a show. We've yet to hear a negative word about Mariota.
Given how his stock was slipping heading into the weekend, he could come out a huge winner if he's able to make all the throws Saturday.
Dorial Green-Beckham Not Making Enough of an Impression

Perhaps more than any other player, Green-Beckham wishes Riddick's gushing tweet was about him.
The troubled wide receiver entered the combine with a ton to prove. His myriad off-field issues cut his collegiate career a year short and left him to stew on the sidelines for 12 months without football.
A no-doubt-about-it first-round choice from a physical standpoint, Green-Beckham's biggest goal in Indianapolis was convincing teams and the media that he has matured.
The verdict from Green-Beckham's meeting with the media Thursday was well short of glowing. The headline from Joan Niesen of Sports Illustrated's dispatch from Indianapolis: "Green-Beckham brings troubled past to draft process at the worst time."
Not exactly the words the former Missouri standout would like to hear. For most, at issue was Green-Beckham's outright refusal to answer direct questions, instead relying on platitudes and vagueness.
"All the decisions I made, I wish I could take them back," Green-Beckham said, per Niesen. "It happened. I was young. I made mistakes. I understand that. I know what’s at stake. I know what type of person I am, and I realize what the NFL is looking for in me as a person. I want them to know that I’m going to go out there and give it my all."
These are quotes from a person who seems more eager to sweep the past under the rug than give an eloquent mea culpa—or, at the very least, offer an explanation of what happened.
Media members are not unlike sharks. They see blood in the water and are going to attack. If Green-Beckham is dismissive or not forthcoming publicly, he's going to incentivize reporters to do their due diligence by digging elsewhere.
To put it mildly, Thursday wasn't a great day for those of us (Hi!) who have DGB still in the first round.
Quick Notes
Brett Hundley Might Be Coming for You, Round 1

The UCLA quarterback was candid and impressive in his press conference, directly addressing concerns about his ability to translate to the next level, per Chris Burke of Sports Illustrated:
"If the time needs be where I need to sit in the pocket and make all the throws, I'll do that. Sometimes in our offense, the situation dictated where if I didn't see something, I'm taking off running. If that is the offense and that is what I need to do...you can watch tape, there's times where I sat in the pocket, I made throws and I felt like I did that consistently.
"
Hundley also addressed the claims he ducked the Senior Bowl to avoid being exposed, citing a lingering injury as the reason he chose not to attend.
If he continues impressing in team meetings, it wouldn't be a surprise if teams start looking at him toward the end of the first round. Philadelphia at No. 20 might be interesting if Chip Kelly is unable to finagle a trade up for Mariota.
Ereck Flowers Is Very Strong
Flowers, whose physical skills outweighed his on-field performances throughout his career at Miami, reminded scouts why he's a first-round prospect.
His 37 bench-press reps of 225 pounds were the most of anyone who lifted Thursday and puts him in a position to potentially leap into the top 15 if the weekend continues on this track.
Todd Gurley, Melvin Gordon Comment on RB Absences in Round 1

"There are a lot of running backs out here, including myself, who are trying to break that trend," Gordon said, per Doug Farrar of Sports Illustrated. "We've been telling people all year that we're capable of being drafted in the first round, that's been our goal, and hopefully, we can change that. There's a lot of talent in this class. We're a close group, and I think we have the talent to go first."
"I'm not here to be No. 5 overall or a second-round pick," Gurley said, per Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News. "I'm here to be the best. I know what I can do. That's the confidence I have."
