How Chelsea's Champions League Draw with PSG Unfolded on Twitter
Chelsea headed to the Parc des Princes on Tuesday evening, knowing that their visit last season resulted in a 3-1 victory for Paris Saint-Germain.
Suffice to say, the Blues failed to park the bus on that evening. Jose Mourinho's side also failed to correctly park the bus on this occasion—before the game had even begun. Apparently, the visitors suffered a vehicular issue upon entering the stadium that did not go unnoticed on Twitter...

PSG, meanwhile, kept quiet about the incident, having suffered an embarrassment when they made a "park the bus" joke at Chelsea's expense over the weekend. Regardless of the status of buses, there were plenty of bold promises being made on social media before kick-off...
"If Chelsea does beat PSG, im going streaking during the Tview vs. Seguin game!
— Jüłįåñ Rîçø (@JulianRic0) February 17, 2015"
"Got a bet on for Chelsea to beat PSG. If I win I'll donate to a children's hospice if I lose I'll sacrifice a kitten.
— JOSH TWEATS (@getlikegwagers) February 17, 2015"
There was also plenty of support for Mark Pougatch, making his Champions League anchor debut on ITV after the network relieved Adrian Chiles of his duties...
"Thank god @itvfootball got rid of Adrian Chiles and replaced him with Mark Pougatch. #thereisagod #thankyou
— James Davies (@jimmyd14070) February 17, 2015"
Yet there wasn't quite so much goodwill surrounding co-commentator Andy Townsend, who will remain in his post until the end of the season...

"Andy Townsend ruins shrove Tuesday

When the action got underway, PSG started brightly, and Thibaut Courtois—in for Petr Cech—reacted well to two headers in a 30-second period...
"Courtois certainly commands his area very well. Always talking. Very mature for his age. #CFC
— Scott W. Nicholls (@scottnicholls) February 17, 2015"
It also appeared that The Mighty Zlatan Ibrahimovic was getting the better of the Blues' centre-backs...
The referee meanwhile, managed to lose track of his vanishing spray. Twitter managed to see the irony...
As the first half progressed and both sides failed to make too much of an attacking threat, attentions turned to the stands, where former PSG star David Beckham was sat in close proximity to a former manager/tormentor...
In the 36th minute, Chelsea broke the deadlock when John Terry, Gary Cahill and Branislav Ivanovic combined for an away goal made in the Chelsea back line...
Shortly after the goal, vanishing spray started trending once again as former Chelsea defender David Luiz appeared to take free-kick placement into his own hands...
"David Luiz being David Luiz... Rubs out the vanishing spray, goes un-noticed. https://t.co/S5oRP1TGm0
— TweetChelseaFC (@TweetChelseaFC) February 17, 2015"
"Luiz is almost trying to redraw the vanishing spray line and changing the position of the freekick. Bizarre how it went unnoticed by ref.
— Priya Ramesh (@Priya8Ramesh) February 17, 2015"
Unfortunately for the Parisians, the free-kick manipulation amounted to nothing as Zlatan's effort sailed over the bar and Chelsea went into the dressing room 1-0 up.
When the second half began, David Luiz was still trending, and not just because Diego Costa appeared to pull his famous Sideshow Bob locks during a break in play...
"Every time David Luiz gets the ball... #PSGCHE pic.twitter.com/6wtWDZmScJ

As the match progressed, Marco Verratti climbed the Twitter trend rankings due to his slightly abrasive style...
In the 54th minute, the wheels came off of any of Chelsea's plans to park the bus (sorry) when their defence left Edinson Cavani completely unmarked as he nabbed the equaliser...
With around 10 minutes to go, Verratti finally earned a booking after producing a foul that might have earned a sending off from other referees...
Despite plenty of attacking moves from PSG in the second half, Chelsea managed to escape with a 1-1 draw and a valuable point. The consensus was that the Blues were quite fortunate to earn a draw...
"@Jim_Wilson7 1-1 with Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain. Chelsea very very lucky to get away with a draw.
