Scotland face a hugely difficult task when they kick off their 2015 World Cup campaign on Tuesday against in-form co-hosts New Zealand.
The Kiwis are one of the favourites to win the competition—along with South Africa and hosting partners Australia—and made an emphatic start by thumping Sri Lanka on Saturday.
Lowly Scotland come into their opener in decent form but are heavy underdogs for the Dunedin clash considering New Zealand's immense quality.

Scotland will believe that they can spring a surprise or two in this World Cup after performing excellently in their warm-up matches.
They put together a total of 310 against the West Indies in losing by just three runs, and thrashed Ireland by 179 runs in Sydney.
They have some terrific quality in the side, particularly Durham's Calum MacLeod, whose centuries against Canada and UAE helped Scotland secure a place at the World Cup.
They have also shown form Down Under in previous contests, losing by just one run to a New Zealand XI in Lincoln last year that included the likes of Brendon McCullum, Corey Anderson and Luke Ronchi.
Indeed, Anderson insists that New Zealand will not underestimate their Tuesday opponents, especially after the Lincoln performance in October, per PA's Matt Somerford (h/t the Daily Mail):
"We'll have to be pretty switched on. We don't want to be two or three down early on otherwise we'll be chasing our tails. We'll treat them as they are a good side and go about our way. I think we probably got put in our place a little bit in Lincoln when they did give us a run. It showed us they do have players who can play and bowlers who can bowl. We're not taking them lightly.
"
However, the fact of the matter is, the Kiwis boast quality in their outfit with both bat and ball that far exceeds the Scotland squad.
They have a particularly impressive batting lineup, including the in-form Kane Williamson, per Opta, who scored yet another half century against Sri Lanka in the tournament's opening match, a game New Zealand won by 98 runs:
Skipper McCullum also scored well in that encounter—65 off 49 balls—while Anderson contributed 75 as New Zealand posted a total of 331.
In the bowling department, the Kiwis have a fine seam attack including Tim Southee, Trent Boult and Adam Milne, alongside experienced spinner Daniel Vettori, still performing to a high level aged 36, per Black Caps:
The home advantage will be an added bonus for New Zealand and they will be eager for another victory as they continue their campaign for a first World Cup crown.
While Scotland will have chances of victory against Afghanistan, Bangladesh and perhaps England in Pool A, the Kiwis look to have too much quality and confidence for an upset to be on the cards in Dunedin.
