Tony Stewart Flagged by NASCAR for Not Weighing in Before Practice
Tony Stewart's 2015 season got off to a rather ignominious beginning on Friday after NASCAR black-flagged the three-time Cup champion for failing to step on the scales ahead of Saturday's Sprint Unlimited.
According to ESPN.com, Stewart was required to be weighed so NASCAR officials would be able to determine whether the weight of his car met the standard measurements. After failing to do so, he went ahead and began his practice session anyway.
That resulted in NASCAR pulling him off the track and into the hauler for a short talk. After that, Stewart acquiesced.

He, however, remained angry about the incident later in the day:
Stewart's spotter, Bob Jeffrey, added that it was something he'd never seen in his entire career:
Despite that early hiccup, Stewart still posted the 12th-best time in Friday's first practice and followed up with the sixth-best time in the second practice session. The black flag didn't look to have thrown him off of his game.
The whole thing was rather innocuous and only notable because you don't often see cars pulled off of a track so officials can ascertain the weight of a driver.
In due time, Stewart and NASCAR fans alike will forget it ever happened.
