Predicted Winner: Stephen Curry
No player in the NBA deserves the title of the best three-point shooter more than Curry. During a year when everything has gone right for the Golden State Warriors, it seems fitting that their leader would earn what's rightfully his.
After coming up short in the past, Curry appears ready to finally do what it takes to win. He has been red-hot all season, becoming the fastest player to hit 1,000 three-point field goals in NBA history on Jan. 8 when he accomplished the feat in his 369th game.
Curry showed his competitive fire leading up to the contest, via Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle:
Taking the title certainly won't be easy.
This year's contest is viewed as potentially one of the most memorable in history due to the loaded field. James Harden, Klay Thompson and Korver are some of the most skilled shooters in the game. If one of the three gets hot, this could be a tough row to hoe for Curry.
Kurt Helin of NBC Sports pointed out the depth of the contest:
Thanks to his relaxed approach and the ease of his shot, Curry will be unstoppable on Saturday night. Even against some of the best in the game, it will be Curry who comes away with his first win in the contest.
Next year, it just might be the other Splash Brother who wins it all. They're just that good.
