Marcell Dareus Faces Court Date for Reckless Driving Arrest
Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus is expected in court on Tuesday to face a reckless endangerment charge dating back to an incident last May.
The Associated Press (via The News Tribune) reports Dareus' lawyer, Michael Caffery, previously stated he was working with the District Attorney in Erie County to settle the case without a trail. The remaining charge is a misdemeanor:
"Eight months after crashing his car into a tree during an alleged race, Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus still faces a charge of reckless endangerment.
The football player is expected before a town judge in Hamburg Tuesday for a hearing on the misdemeanor count.

According to a report from the Associated Press (via Fox Sports), Dareus appeared in court briefly on Tuesday, and a judge set a trial date for May 19.
Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk noted back in June that the defensive star crashed into a tree shortly after police had received a call about an apparent road race:
"Witnesses said that Dareus' car had left the roadway while traveling at a high rate of speed and crashed into a tree near the Mongolian Buffet restaurant. The crash damaged both the car and the tree and the driver of the other car has thus far eluded law enforcement.
"
Fellow Bills defensive lineman Jerry Hughes later acknowledged he was driving the other car, but didn't admit any wrongdoing.
Dareus played a key role in the team's defensive success this past season. He racked up 48 tackles and 10 sacks, which was a career-high total, in 15 games.
It's unclear whether he could face any NFL discipline once the case is complete.
