Vick Signs With Eagles, Vikings Fans Let Out Tears (of Happiness)
ESPN reports that Michael Vick has signed a two-year year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles worth up to 6.8 million dollars. According to ESPN reporter Chris Mortensen, the first year of the deal is for $1.6 million with an option for the second year at $5.2 million, a significant pay cut from his previous 10 year, $130 million deal he had with the Falcons prior to his conviction.
The Vick signing is good news for many fans across the country. Some fans are happy, that they don't have a convicted criminal on their team. Others jump for joy at the fact that they don't have to worry about playing against a great rushing threat twice a season.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
One team predicted as a good match for Vick was the Minnesota Vikings. Although Head Coach Brad Childress came out and said they were not interested in signing Vick (The same Childress who said there was no interest in Favre, Hmmm...) many fans still speculated on whether he was an option, and how he would suit the team. Some fans were anxious for a change at the QB position, that has troubled them since the days of Culpepper and Moss. Others, shudder at the though of Vick suiting up in purple, whether it be for moral reasons, or just skepticism as to whether he can still be effective. The fact remains that he has been out of football for two years, and has not been able to properly train, both physically and mentally to play at the NFL level while in prison. It's likely his speed and quickness has suffered, as well as his decision-making as a passer.
Other Vikes fans will let out a big sigh of relief that the other NFC North teams won't have Vick causing headaches for them twice a year. There was reportedly interest from the Green Bay Packers, and Vick was also sighted at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago (without his marijuana-hiding waterbottle this time), so that raised concerns that he could be headed to the Packers or Bears.
At this point though, its uncertain what role Vick will play in Philadelphia, whether they plan on running a wildcat formation, running him from the slot, or trying to push McNabb for a starting job. A press conference will be held on Friday morning, so more information will likely be revealed then about the situation.
