Marco Reus, Borussia Dortmund Agree on New Contract: Latest Details, Reaction
Marco Reus has put pen to paper on a new contract that will see him remain with Borussia Dortmund until the summer of 2019.
That's according to Borussia Dortmund's official Twitter feed, who revealed the German international had extended his deal on Tuesday to bring an end to speculation regarding a potential summer exit:

Reus' old deal with the Black and Yellows was set to expire in 2017 and contained a clause which, upon coming into effect this summer, would have reduced his release fee to just £20 million, according to Simon Bajkowski of the Manchester Evening News.
According to Eurosport, the new deal doesn't have a release clause of any sort:
However, should the German outfit choose to cash in on their forward now, they would presumably look to barter for a much higher price, closer to that of his actual market value.

Ben Jefferson of the Daily Express reported on Monday that the likes of Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Arsenal were chasing in the attacker, while Real Madrid were also tightly linked.
Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke was quoted in the report as saying: "We have put all our cards on the table. The ball is now in Marco's court."
Tom Adams of Eurosport joked that the move would be a blow for fans of transfer rumours, as the winger had been linked to an exit from Dortmund for some time now:

In response, Reus has chosen to accept the new terms, but it doesn't guarantee the player will still find himself at Signal Iduna Park next season.

Jurgen Klopp's men have endured a torrid campaign and went into the winter break joint-bottom in the Bundesliga standings alongside Freiburg, having only just recently moved outside the bottom two.
Should Dortmund receive any offers they find satisfactory this summer, the club may still choose to cash in on their star, but will now hope his long-term loyalties may put off his European pursuers.
