Villanova Wildcats vs. Georgetown Hoyas: Betting Odds, Matchup Stats
Two of the Big East’s best teams will square off Saturday when the Villanova Wildcats host the Georgetown Hoyas.
The Wildcats will be out for revenge after suffering a 78-58 defeat at Georgetown as four-point road favorites at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark on January 19—just their second loss of the season following an impressive 17-1 start.
Villanova has won three in a row since then, both straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS), after routing the Marquette Golden Eagles 70-52 as a 14-point home favorite Wednesday.

The last nine wins for the Wildcats have all been decided by at least 12 points since defeating the Syracuse Orange 82-77 in overtime, but they failed to cover the spread as 10-point home favorites. During their current three-game winning streak, they have won by an average margin of 17.3 points.
Georgetown has split its past four since routing Villanova, including a 74-71 home loss to the Providence Friars as 6.5-point favorites on the college basketball betting lines in their last game Wednesday.
The Hoyas led the Friars 59-46 with less than 12 minutes remaining and then surrendered a 20-6 run to fall behind for only the second time. Georgetown hung around and actually led a couple of more times in the last two minutes, despite failing to score a basket in the last 7:41.
Guard D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera led the Hoyas with a game-high 21 points but none of his other teammates scored more than 10. They have dropped two of three SU and ATS—with both losses coming at home—following a four-game winning streak.
Last year, Villanova swept two meetings with Georgetown, winning by an average of 11.5 points per game. They are currently intriguing 40-1 long shots in March Madness odds (although as short as 25-1 at other books tracked by Odds Shark).
The Hoyas had lost three straight in the series with a 1-2 mark ATS before pulling off the big upset earlier this year, and they will likely need another strong defensive effort in order to sweep the Wildcats this season.
Villanova shot just 34 percent from the field (14-of-41) and was out-rebounded 34-26 by a more physical Georgetown squad in the last meeting that ended up over the 133-point total.
Smith-Rivera also had a game-high 17 points on 3-of-10 shooting from the floor, doing most of his damage from the free-throw line, where he made nine of 10.
