Liverpool Fan with 'You'll Never Walk' Tattoo After Leg Amputation Eyes GB Team
A marine who had part of his right leg amputated after accidentally stepping on an explosive device, saw something eerily ironic happen to his Liverpool tattoo.
Royal Marine Andy Grant had the Liverpool crest and the club's motto "You'll Never Walk Alone" tattooed on his right leg.

However, after the accident in Afghanistan, he needed to have an operation to amputate his leg, and while most of his tattoo survived the surgery, the word "Alone" was removed, meaning it now reads "You'll Never Walk."
Amazingly, though, Grant has just laughed off the ironic twist, he has also since got prosthetic legs and hasn't just walked again but started running at a highly impressive level.
He is quoted in the Daily Mail as saying:
"It is ironic that it says I will never walk as I have gone on to run 10k in 40 mins.
At the moment I am just two minutes off a record for the 10k for a single leg amputee and I have that in my sights.
It is bizarre and I just laugh about it. But it adds to my story I guess.
The fact is that regardless of what the words says, the operation allowed me to walk and run and do so much else. You have got to see the funny side of it.
"
Grant went on to say that he hoped his story would inspire people and says his next challenge is to try to row across the Atlantic and get picked for the British Paralympic team.
