The Kings announced that Collison underwent successful surgery to repair a core muscle. He will begin rehab immediately and is expected to miss six weeks.

Collison was facing the Dallas team he played for in 2012-13 and hit all three of his field-goal attempts, but he didn't register an assist and committed three turnovers in his 14 minutes of action.
Veteran combo guard Ramon Sessions will be asked to fill a bigger role until Collison can return. The good news is that the injury doesn't seem all too severe.
There's also a chance for rookie first-round pick Nik Stauskas and another youngster in Ray McCallum to see more minutes in the Kings' perimeter rotation.
