Tobias Harris Injury: Updates on Orlando Magic Star's Ankle and Return

Timothy RappMar 18, 2015

In a rough season for the Orlando Magic, Tobias Harris has been one of the few bright spots. But even Harris couldn't escape the curse Orlando seems to be under this season, as he missed Wednesday's game vs. the Dallas Mavericks with an ankle injury.

He has missed the team's last three games, but has returned to practice and was made active on March 25.

Harris Active vs. Hawks

Wednesday, March 25

Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reported Harris is active for the Magic's game against Atlanta on Wednesday.

"Tobias Harris indicated his ankle is feeling much better. Seems like there's a strong chance he plays tonight," relayed Robbins

Harris has missed the team's last three games.

Robbins first reported Harris' ankle injury on March 18.

Orlando had its struggles from the gate this season, as Victor Oladipo and Channing Frye suffered knee injuries in the preseason. Despite many believing the Magic could turn a corner this season and perhaps even compete for a playoff spot, the team limped to a 15-37 record and fired head coach Jacque Vaughn in early February.

Harris, to his credit, had nothing but kind words for Vaughn:

Throughout the team's struggles, Harris has been a constant, averaging 16.9 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Along with Nikola Vucevic, Evan Fournier, Elfrid Payton, Aaron Gordon and Oladipo, the 22-year-old Harris helps to form what should be a promising young core going forward.

In 2014-15, the Magic haven't been able to deliver on that young talent, but the future could still be bright for this young bunch, especially as Harris continues to develop and improve.
