Agreements, Disagreements with Triple H's Comments on Stone Cold's Podcast
In just two podcast appearances on the WWE Network, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin has interviewed arguably WWE's two most controversial figures.
Triple H's appearance on Austin's podcast was no easier than McMahon's. Austin questioned the top WWE official on everything from selecting Roman Reigns as a headliner to inducting Chyna into the Hall of Fame.
Through it all, the icons drummed up interesting conversation subject to both agreement as well as scrutiny.

Agree: The worst thing to do to a WWE Superstar is make him babyface
Triple H jokingly made this retort while defending Roman Reigns, but some truth was said in jest. In an era of heightened cynicism, it is more difficult than ever to book a babyface from scratch.
In fact, the more popular babyfaces are usually heels who fans began cheering because of strong performances. Reigns' coming-out parties at Survivor Series and the 2014 Royal Rumble both happened as a heel.
The second-generation star was coming along just fine following The Shield's split. One Daniel Bryan comeback later, and Reigns' steady cruise to WrestleMania hit an iceberg. Bryan's independent wrestling pedigree and perceived status as an underdog make him a more natural babyface by comparison.
Suddenly, talk of Reigns being "forced" enters the conversation. WWE now needs to be delicate with babyface Reigns as it continues to battle resentment.
Disagree: Chyna's scandalous background is keeping her out of the WWE Hall of Fame
Triple H explained to Austin fears of his eight-year-old daughter Googling Hall of Fame candidate Chyna. Despite her unmatched contributions in WWE, Triple H was not comfortable with her salacious current career choice.
The "Google" defense is a dangerous defense. Google knows the deepest and darkest secret of every public figure. Triple H suggested Chyna's questionable Google results are keeping her out of the Hall of Fame.
This is in direct contradiction with many recent inductees.
Scott Hall's tumultuous career, compromised by drug use, is a story one can find on ESPN programming using a Google search.
In fact, several members of the Class of 2014—from Jake the Snake Roberts to Carlos Colon (per Ric Russo of the Orlando Sentinel)—had careers marred by scandal and controversy. These were the very types of scandals that parents go out of their way to shield their children from.
Yet staying true to WWE's unofficial credo of "never say never," all has been forgiven and/or resolved.
Chyna's situation is a bit trickier given her romantic history with Triple H (per Raj Giri of WrestlingInc.com) and subsequent fallout with WWE.
"Never say never" applies to all WWE Superstars and Divas, but fans of Chyna shouldn't hold their breath.
Agree: Nobody's ever truly ready for top spot
Triple H shed some interesting insight on being a top performer in WWE. Many Daniel Bryan supporters continue to insist Reigns isn't ready to be a top star. They should know more than anybody, however, that nobody really knows when a potential top star is ready.
Fans were ready to see Bryan carry WWE into its next era after he went over as WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania XXX. He seemed destined to be WWE's biggest star since John Cena.
But just as he took off, Bryan's run came crashing to a halt following a serious injury setback. Bryan recently returned with just as much momentum as when he left. To suggest he is ready for a workload similar to Cena, however, is a bit too ambitious.
Nobody truly knows the formula to creating a can't-miss top star. Not only has WWE misfired several times with its attempt at launching top stars, so have fans. It takes more than a cult hero bolstered by popular demand to connect with casual fans on a long-term basis.
Disagree: Triple H's involvement in 2011 CM Punk storyline designed to Punk over
CM Punk's white-hot run in 2011 came crashing down the minute Triple H got involved.
CM Punk had a tremendous feud with Cena in the summer of 2011. Shortly thereafter, Triple H's involvement led to Punk losing the WWE Championship, then losing an overbooked match to Triple H.
To suggest these actions were designed to make Punk a bigger star is borderline laughable. It wasn't long before Punk was knocked down a peg. He wouldn't see similar success until he turned heel and aligned himself with Paul Heyman months later.
Punk expressed frustration with Triple H during his infamous appearance on Colt Cabana's podcast, specifically citing their 2011 feud.
Triple H seems to view things differently, saying WWE booked the angle for the right reasons. It's anybody's guess what the thought process was. But on paper and in the ring, CM Punk was only diminished by this underwhelming feud.
