Ghana were in ominous form at the quarterfinal stage during the 3-0 dismantling of Guinea. Chelsea loanee Christian Atsu bagged a pair of goals for manager Avram Grant's team.
The match soon became a "procession" for Grant's squad, per BBC Sport reporter Ian Hughes. He also noted how Andre Ayew set up Atsu's first goal with a deft backheel.
It was a typical piece of technical ingenuity from the veteran Marseille man. The creative forward is the player Equatorial Guinea should fear most.
Another major challenge could be wresting possession away from a Ghana midfield bossed by young powerhouse Afriyie Acquah. The 23-year-old is a fierce tackler and tough to dispossess once he drives forward.
Meanwhile, Equatorial Guinea manager Esteban Becker has overseen an incredible run. The Argentine coach, who was only appointed in the final days before the tournament began, took over a team that was initially disqualified in July last year for fielding an ineligible player.
It's only by virtue of being hosts that Equatorial Guinea are actually participating at all. A Reuters report (h/t Yahoo Sports) even claims some soft penalties have "taken some of the shine off their performance."
The same report indicates Ghana's veteran forward Asamoah Gyan could miss out after suffering a "disgraceful" tackle during the quarterfinal. His absence would be a major boost to Becker's men.

Even with the controversy surrounding them, his players have still produced plenty of resolute displays. That determination and the home advantage will certainly force Ghana's seasoned and talented players to produce their best.
The hosts will also hope quick and bullish forward Emilio Nsue is at his best. The Middlesbrough attacker is the focal point of his nation's forward line.
Prediction: Ghana 2-0 Equatorial Guinea
Ghana's experience means they won't be rattled by a likely partisan crowd. Grant's team also has plenty of quality up front courtesy of Ayew's mercurial brain. Expect him to create the game's decisive moments.
