Stoke and Hull City were also reportedly in for the Englishman, per Sky Sports, but the winger preferred a temporary switch to Goodison Park.
Lennon has fallen out of favour at White Hart Lane under Mauricio Pochettino, starting only three Premier League games in the 2014-15 season, per WhoScored.com.

He could well prove valuable to Roberto Martinez as he will likely be eager to show his worth, and his electric pace, creativity and experience could help Everton to turn around a largely dismal season.
However, the Daily Telegraph's Matt Law is less than positive about Lennon's current form:
Martinez will no doubt be hopeful that a new environment and more playing time can return the 27-year-old to his previous best.
Lennon has been at Spurs since moving from Leeds for £1 million in 2005 and he has been capped 21 times by England, though his last international appearance came in 2013.
As The Telegraph's Henry Winter notes, his Everton loan deal provides him with an opportunity to prove he can still make an impact at the highest level:
Whether or not he will stay at Everton beyond the summer remains to be seen, but it certainly seems that his switch to Merseyside could work out well for all parties.
Once one of England's brightest prospects, Lennon's star has waned significantly, but he now has the chance to prove himself again at one of the Premier League's most storied clubs.
