Hugo Lloris Targeted by Arsenal, Latest News on Morgan Schneiderlin Transfer
Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is reportedly set to be the target of a controversial transfer swoop from Spurs' north London rivals Arsenal as Arsene Wenger looks for a new shot-stopper.
According to L'Equipe (h/t Aaron Flanagan in the Mirror), Wenger is on the look out for a new top-class keeper after the recent indiscipline and poor form of Wojciech Szczesny, with Lloris a prime target.
Transfers between Spurs and Arsenal are incredibly rare due to the intense rivalry between the two clubs, William Gallas being the last player to cross the divide when he swapped the Gunners for White Hart Lane in 2010.

Spurs will likely fight tooth and nail to keep Lloris from Arsenal's clutches, not least because he is an incredibly fine goalkeeper, as he proved once again in Saturday's 3-0 victory over West Brom, per BBC Sport's Pat Murphy:
A switch for the 28-year-old Frenchman to Arsenal does seem highly unlikely and it is hugely doubtful whether Wenger will even try his luck in approaching Spurs.
However, Lloris would be a big upgrade for Arsenal in between the posts, Szczesny having failed to consistently perform in a Gunners shirt while David Ospina is, as yet, unproven at the Emirates.
Lloris could potentially be attracted by the lure of Champions League football, but Spurs are looking equally likely as the Gunners to make it into Europe's top competition next season.

A potentially more realistic target for Arsenal is Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin, long-rumoured to be wanted by Wenger to strengthen the Gunners midfield.
According to Jamie Sanderson in Metro, Arsenal are preparing a £15 million bid to sign the Frenchman at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old agitated for a move away from St Mary's last summer, per Goal.com's Marco Giordano, but was denied.
He has since played a huge role as Southampton continue their impressive bid for a top-four finish this season, with tactics expert Michael Cox ranking him alongside the Premier League's best defensive midfielder:
It is unsurprising that Schneiderlin is a key Gunners target as they have been without a quality deep-lying midfielder for some time now.
However, the quoted £15 million is unlikely to be enough to persuade Southampton to part with one of their star men, nor will Schneiderlin be keen on a move if Saints finish in the top four this year and Arsenal do not—as is currently a strong possibility.
