WWE's Top Tweets, Instagram Photos and Viral Videos for Week of January 26
Other than Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center, there was no other place to feel the intensity of the aftershocks of the WWE Royal Rumble than social media.
Twitter brimmed with confused, angry and poignant responses to Roman Reigns' victory. WWE's Instagram proved that not everyone is unhappy with his coronation, though. The number of "likes" that his celebratory photos received points to a fanbase pulling for him amid the noise of others rejecting him.
Other WWE-related social media highlights include some funny looks at would-be Superstars and Triple H's display of virtual flexibility.

Fresh Backstage WWE Rumors 👊

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
We begin there, with an unsettling glitch in WWE 2K15. In Kotaku's Highlight Reel, we see a Triple H vs. Kane Casket match defy the laws of physics:
It's amazing that The Game didn't tear a quad there.
Kane also battled in a real-life Casket match on Thursday's live edition of SmackDown. He lost to Daniel Bryan, a flying knee to the head dropping him into the eerie vessel.
That win wasn't the one Bryan's fans were hoping for. His departure from the Royal Rumble deflated the Philly crowd and began a downward trajectory for that match's momentum. It also meant that Bryan will not be heading to the main event for the second year in a row.
Who will be his opponent at the marquee event then?
Dolph Ziggler has an idea. He proposed that he and Bryan face off and steal the show. The bearded warrior said he liked the idea:
It seems that The Showoff has a knack for looking at the positive side of things. He did that again on Monday night when WWE was forced to cancel its trip to Hartford, Connecticut, for Raw due to a nasty snowstorm. Ziggler seemed to be enjoying the snow day.
A funny tweet summed up his experience that night:
Ziggler couldn't have enjoyed how the Rumble turned out, though. He lasted just over two minutes in the match, per WWE.com.
At least he made it into the ring. Curtis Axel didn't officially enter the bout. Instead, Erick Rowan clobbered him during his entrance and met up with his former Wyatt Family "brothers."
Axel believes that means he should be facing Brock Lesnar, not Reigns, as he noted on Twitter:
He has a point. It's been days after the event, and no one has eliminated him from the bout yet.
But Axel wasn't going to win that match, and neither was Bryan. Fans had to know that with how hard WWE was pushing Reigns. That didn't stop the backlash that Reigns suffered.
Bill Simmons of Grantland summed up the negativity in the arena that night perfectly:
Former WWE star Justin Credible had his own nugget of wisdom. He nailed how Vince McMahon continues to misread his audience's love for Bryan:
Reigns has his supporters, though. That shows in how many folks pressed the heart icon on Instagram shots of him post-win.
In one, Reigns embraces The Rock. It's a moving picture of the backstage scene, capturing what must have been a surreal moment for the emerging star:
On the scaled-down version of Raw the next night, Reigns moved on. He had a WrestleMania main event to prepare for. He and Lesnar engaged in a tense staredown during an interview segment.
WWE posted a great shot of that moment on Instagram:
If Reigns doesn't work out as the next big thing, and WWE is still not convinced that Bryan can take over that role, perhaps the company can turn to the boxing world. Manny Pacquiao has already shown the world that he's not just a boxer by entering the political realm and putting out a pop album.
Is the squared circle next? A hilarious video at Funny or Die imagines what it would look like if he did add pro wrestling to his resume:
And let's say WWE is not convinced that Manny "The Flying Filipino" Pacquiao will succeed. Joe Weller and his buddies may spark the company's interest.
Judging by this collection of them hitting famous finishing moves in public, they have the showmanship part of the equation down:
Pencil Weller in for the 2016 Royal Rumble. Just don't let him win if Bryan is in the match. Boos are sure to reign down on him, and Twitter will combust.
Reigns and Batista know exactly how that feels.
