WWE Fast Lane 2015: Smart Builds for PPV's Top Feuds
Many members of the WWE Universe are still focused on the Royal Rumble, but the WWE is already looking forward to the inaugural edition of the Fast Lane pay-per-view on February 22, and beyond it the road to WrestleMania.
It is imperative that the company regains the fans' trust after terrible booking in the actual Royal Rumble Battle Royal left Daniel Bryan on the outside looking in and Roman Reigns standing tall at the end of the night.
In order to make Fast Lane a success, the company must build the biggest feuds successfully.

Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns
After winning the Royal Rumble, it became abundantly clear that Reigns was the handpicked star of the future for the company.
His victory has earned him the chance to main event WrestleMania against WWE champion Brock Lesnar.
The two men went face-to-face on the mic during the snowed-out edition of Raw, and even fans who hate the decision to ride with Reigns as the future of the brand had to respect the effort put into selling him by Paul Heyman and Lesnar.
At Fast Lane, the hope is that Reigns has a warm-up match. While it shouldn’t be against Big Show—Seth Rollins is a much better answer—he needs to prepare for the main event by working a longer singles bout.
The smart booking would have Heyman tease the possibility of Lesnar just showing up at Fast Lane, so that Reigns will be constantly looking over his shoulder. When he finally steps in the ring at the PPV, Lesnar should make an appearance and try to cost him the victory.
Reigns must get the win, but having Lesnar beat him down after the match would set the tone on the remainder of the road to WrestleMania.
Triple H vs. Sting
For months now, the tension between Sting and Triple H has grown. Since making his WWE debut at Survivor Series, Sting has thwarted Triple H’s plans for domination within the company. Triple H is tired of it and has called out the icon for a face-to-face confrontation at Fast Lane.
The hope is that Triple H will set a trap for Sting.
Since the former WCW world champion has had the upper hand throughout his time in WWE thus far, Triple H must even the odds at Fast Lane by letting The Authority beat Sting down.
Instead of answering Triple H’s challenge ahead of time, Sting should show up at the PPV after letting his foe trash-talk him. Just as The Authority is about to leave the ring, Sting can hit the stage, and the battle will be on.
If the long-term plan is for Sting to get the victory over Triple H at WrestleMania 31, it will be imperative to book The Authority strongly leading into the event.
Beating Sting down in front of the WWE Universe at Fast Lane would hammer home a lasting impression.
John Cena vs. Rusev
Despite a lackluster start to the feud, the battle between John Cena and United States champion Rusev should be one of the most entertaining heading into Fast Lane and eventually lead to the rematch at WrestleMania.
Cena is the most popular star in wrestling today, but many fans have grown tired of his comedic approach to the sport and stale persona.
On the other hand, Rusev and his manager Lana have been two of the most entertaining personalities in the WWE over the last year.
With Reigns taking the spot in the main event of WrestleMania 31, the WWE needs something monumental for Cena to do at the biggest show of the year, and ending Rusev’s undefeated streak would be a major accomplishment.
The hope is that the WWE uses this opportunity to elevate Rusev to Cena’s level and book him as his equal throughout this feud. Rusev should steal the victory at Fast Lane, especially if Cena is going to take the victory at WrestleMania.
