Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao at Miami Heat Game: Details, Twitter Reaction

Matt FitzgeraldJan 27, 2015

Nothing is official, but hopes are as high as ever for a potential boxing superfight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The two superstars were both in attendance for the Miami Heat's game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday and may have attracted more attention than all that transpired on the court.

At the halftime intermission, Pacquiao and Mayweather had a conversation at AmericanAirlines Arena, which can be viewed on Vine.

All of this comes after Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix provided an update earlier on Tuesday, not long before the Heat-Bucks game commenced:

Promoter Bob Arum told Iole on January 13 that Pacquiao had agreed to terms for a prospective May 2 fight with Mayweather and that it was on the latter's camp to sign the paperwork to make it official.

Those who criticize Mayweather most harshly would argue that he's ducked Pacquiao to keep his unblemished 47-0 record intact. If Tuesday's maiden face-to-face encounter and alleged attempt to get in touch by way of mobile phone is to be given any credence, perhaps Mayweather can fully dismiss that notion through his actions.

Lack of action is what has impeded the Pacquiao-Mayweather dream matchup from materializing. Many people still hoping to see this bout come to fruition have to feel as though talk is cheap at this point.

However, given that Pacquiao and Mayweather hadn't spoken until Tuesday, there may be reason for greater optimism, especially since Mayweather sparked the conversation.
