Chelsea vs. Liverpool: Date, Time, Live Stream, TV Info, Capital One Cup Preview
Chelsea and Liverpool lock horns once again in the Capital One Cup semi-final second leg at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, with a Wembley date awaiting the victor following a stalemate at Anfield in the first leg.
That 1-1 draw was rather harsh on Liverpool, as they put together arguably their best performance of the season, and they’ll need a repeat of that if they’re to progress against a Chelsea side in desperate need of redemption.
The Blues played the role of Goliath on Saturday, as League One Bradford City dumped them out of the FA Cup 4-2, and they’ll be out to prove a point with the danger of another chance of silverware slipping through their fingers.

Chelsea Needing Big Lift

The so-called magic of the FA Cup is one of the most overused cliches in the English game, but Bradford’s victory at Stamford Bridge from 2-0 down was truly spellbinding.
Manager Jose Mourinho didn’t name a full-strength team, sure, but you’d think he had enough talent at his disposal to see off the Bantams.

The Portuguese boss will likely recall all of his big guns, including Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas, and he’ll be hoping that’ll be enough for the fans to find their voices.
Speaking with Chelsea TV, the 51-year-old said that a rocking atmosphere will give his side an edge—the kind that the Liverpool faithful created for their side in the first leg, via Jamie Sanderson of Metro:
“If Stamford Bridge can give us 25 per cent of the emotion Anfield gives Liverpool, I think we can do it. Liverpool, instead of 40,000 fans, they will have five or 10 (thousand). Chelsea, instead of 1,000, will have 40,000. I hope that can make a difference in the atmosphere.”

The players themselves need to produce a performance to give the fans something to sing about, though, but with Mourinho now prioritising the competition, you can guarantee there’s going to be a backlash—as he said in a press conference, reported via Bleacher Report’s Garry Hayes:
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, meanwhile, will be telling his team to give him more of the same. While the Reds were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday, the way they dominated the match will give the boss plenty of encouragement.
The Reds have turned a corner in their season since losing 3-0 to Manchester United, going 10 games unbeaten ever since—per BBC Sport.
They’ve been exciting, direct and played with flair—the kind of style that made them potential champions in last season’s Premier League.
Rodgers will likely make a few changes to the side that were held by Bolton on Saturday, with skipper Steven Gerrard coming in from the start to try to lead his side to Wembley.

Fabio Borini should keep his place up front, while Lazar Markovic could be recalled after impressing in the first leg.
Chelsea will be deemed vulnerable ahead of Tuesday’s match, however, in truth, they’ll be anything but.
When the Blues have a point to prove, they go ahead and prove it more often than not.
Liverpool could well put together another exceptional performance and put Chelsea on the back foot, but the Londoners’ class will shine through.
Prediction: Chelsea 2-1 Liverpool
