Liverpool Transfer News: PSG Ready to Sell Ezequiel Lavezzi, Bojan Krkic Rumours
Liverpool have received mixed news in their attempts to beef up the Anfield attack this week, after it came to light that Paris Saint-Germain could let Ezequiel Lavezzi leave, but Bojan Krkic won't be arriving on Anfield.
According to Metro (h/t The Telegraph), Lavezzi may have burned his last bridge in the French capital after failing to show up for a midseason training camp and the club will now cash in on his signature.

The 29-year-old has long courted attention from Merseyside, and Brendan Rodgers would look to add to the summer signings of wide men Lazar Markovic and Adam Lallana with a more experienced asset.
Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe recently weighed up the positives and negatives of a Lavezzi arrival on Anfield, with wages being one factor that could prove a stumbling block:
Laurent Blanc has started Lavezzi in eight of his 14 Ligue 1 appearances this season, the forward scoring two goals and making 11 chances for the French champions in that time, per Squawka.
Jonathan Johnson of Bleacher Report gives an idea of how much he thinks the player would be worth, with PSG potentially open to his sale in the pursuit of their own targets:
Given his age, Lavezzi may not have the same long-term prospects as some of Rodgers' other recent acquisitions, but a more seasoned presence in attack may be what's needed by the Reds.
It's well-founded the likes of Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert have failed to inspire in Daniel Sturridge's absence, but perhaps a more accomplished chain of wing supply could help in that regard.

He hasn't been able to show it of late, but Lavezzi also possesses a threat on goal himself, far more capable than simply hugging the touchline and playing the part of creator when at his best.
The hopes of luring his services to England look fruitful, but Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has insisted rumours linking Bojan with the Reds are empty. Per the Press Association (h/t ESPN FC), when asked regarding his forward's availability, Hughes said:
"Don't bother. He's done exceptionally well. We knew it would take a little bit of time for him to get to grips with the Premier League and he's done that.
He's playing well. He's a talented football player and I think he's proving that in the Premier League.
At this stage of his career that he's had disappointments such as being sent out on loan by Barcelona, the disappointments he had in terms of his game time and maybe how he was treated in certain situations.
So he's come here and really embraced what we're doing and I think he's enjoying the environment that we can give him.
I think he's very happy. We have no intention of encouraging any interest in him. He's a big part of what we want to do, moving forward, so it's a non-story.
"
Temporary spells with Milan and Ajax failed to encourage the notion that Bojan would ever live up to his potential as a Barca prodigy, but Stoke have handed him some much-needed adoration.
The Spaniard has become a key figure at the Britannia Stadium of late and is finally loved by his fans once again, something he went for several years without.

In 16 Premier League appearances, Bojan has scored four goals and created 26 scoring opportunities for the Potters, second only to Marko Arnautovic, according to Squawka.
As his time in England goes on, the 24-year-old can hope to see those numbers only improve further, with Adam Crafton of the Daily Mail insisting he's not looking for a move:
"Stoke's Bojan happy there and there has been no contact from #LFC. Wants to stay at the club
— Adam Crafton (@AdamCrafton_) January 23, 2015"
Liverpool would be acquiring Bojan based off his recent run in the Premier League, but it's still too early to tell if Bojan will be a success in the long run.
What's more, given that he's finally come upon prominence once again, there's certainly no guarantee the forward would agree to move and risk dropping to the bench once again.

Hughes is clearly a fan of his summer signing, who came to the Britannia for just £3 million, a figure Stoke would most certainly hope to improve upon in the event that they did choose to sell.
For now, however, it seems unlikely the Potters will relinquish their grip on a player who has likely only just begun his ascension among their ranks.
