Drew Brees, QB, Team Carter

One of the biggest keys to finding success at the Pro Bowl is the players who actually take the matchup seriously and don’t view the game as a glorified vacation. One of those biggest potential difference-makers will be Team Carter quarterback Drew Brees.
The New Orleans Saints may not have made the postseason, but Brees still performed at a high level this season. In 16 games, he threw for 4,952 yards, 33 touchdowns and 17 interceptions to finish the year with a passer rating of 97.
With defenses not allowed to blitz, Brees should have all day in the pocket to make big plays down the field. If he can take advantage of the plethora of weapons he has at wide receiver and in the backfield, Brees will lead his team to victory.
NFL's Director of NFC Football Communications Randall Liu shared on Twitter that Brees had replaced Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in the Pro Bowl roster selection:
"#Saints QB Drew Brees added to Pro Bowl roster (9th Pro Bowl selection, 8th with NO). Replaces Ben Roethlisberger
— Randall Liu (@RLiuNFL) January 9, 2015"
When asked about why Roethlisberger was missing the Pro Bowl, the Pittsburgh QB’s agent, Ryan Tollner, told Mike Triplett of ESPN.com, “Ben was instructed by team doctors to avoid strenuous activity due to inflammation in his knee, thus he will not play in the Pro Bowl. His knee will not require surgery and he looks forward to an otherwise healthy offseason to improve with his teammates.”
The good news for Brees and his teammates is that the quarterback is fully rested and will be looking to get some much-needed work in. After finishing the season with five interceptions in two games, there is no doubt Brees will look to find redemption on the national stage.
With Jamaal Charles, A.J. Green, T.Y. Hilton and more, Brees should be able to lead the offensive unit to big numbers while he is on the field.
Depending on how hard his teammates try, though, this game could conceivably go either way.
