The captains know which teams they will play for, and several positions have been selected. Now, well, things get fun for Team Irvin and Team Carter as they select the premier positions on Wednesday night.

With Michael Irvin and Cris Carter set to complete their rosters, now is a great time to take a look at each team's captains and picks to this point, as well as preview what might come next. Let's break it all down.

Preview

In a Pro Bowl that will feature Andy Dalton, quarterbacks Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers and Ben Roethlisberger pulled out of the game due to injuries—and Tom Brady is ineligible to play due to appearing in the Super Bowl this year. As a result, the position will be at a bit of a premium early in the draft.

For that reason, don't be surprised if Andrew Luck is the top overall pick for the third year in a row. He'll certainly be motivated to perform after the New England Patriots eliminated the Indianapolis Colts from the playoffs last Sunday.

In general, with two wide receivers selecting the teams, they will place quite a bit of emphasis on the passing game and defending the pass early in the draft. Wide receivers and cornerbacks will probably come flying off the board.

You can also expect Irvin to target players from the Dallas Cowboys. He's already done that to a point, with DeMarco Murray as his captain and Zack Martin and Travis Frederick on his offensive line. Don't be surprised if he finds a way to get Dez Bryant, Tony Romo and Tyron Smith on his team as well.

One bit of strategy that became a factor when the fantasy draft was instituted was the ability to pair teammates together. If you draft Dalton, why not take A.J. Green too? If you take Drew Brees, why wouldn't you take Jimmy Graham?

Irvin already showed a tendency toward pairing teammates, selecting Martin and Frederick for his offensive line. The strategy makes sense—in an all-star game that mixes and matches players from all 32 teams, having built-in chemistry between teammates is worth its weight in gold.

Finally, don't expect a ton of people to take the Pro Bowl seriously. It's becoming an annual rite during the layoff before the Super Bowl to have a bit of fun at the Pro Bowl's expense. Jim Rome of CBS Sports summed that up with one pointed tweet:

But hey, it's just an exhibition. Let's all have a little bit of fun with the remainder of the fantasy draft and the game itself. After all, as anyone who ever had a fantasy draft in Madden can tell you, the draft is just as fun, if not more fun, than playing the game itself.

Why should the Pro Bowl be any different?
