Why Eden Hazard's Winning Mentality Is the Chelsea Midfielder's Biggest Strength
Eden Hazard has been one of the stars of Chelsea this season, but the diminutive Belgian isn't getting carried away with himself.
Speaking in the latest issue of Chelsea magazine, Hazard gives a rare insight into his character, explaining that he may well be grabbing the headlines right now, but he's more worried about what the team achieves over any personal accolades.
"[My aim is] to win, of course. Even if I score three goals and we lose the game, it’s no good for me.
I want more than that, though. Every game I try to enjoy myself, to take pleasure from the game, to give pleasure to the fans and, of course, for us to win the game.
I started the season very well, I have been able to score and make assists for the team. My job is to win the game and I get a lot of freedom on the pitch. I am free to play and I do what I have to do.
"

It's a mature response from a player who is maturing well under Jose Mourinho.
From being seen as a £32 million gamble, Hazard's performances have made him one of the Premier League's finest transfers in recent seasons.
Mourinho has built his new-look Chelsea around him, adding Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas last summer to complement Hazard's vast talents.
And right now, it's working.
What Hazard represents most, though, is the long-held notion that mind over matter often produces the goods.
For all his ability as a footballer, without the right attitude and mentality, the Chelsea No. 10 wouldn't be as effective as he is.

Performances from him are one thing, the team's success is another.
It's no wonder Mourinho has taken him under his wing. After all, it's those qualities the manager cherishes most in his players.
"I have a good feeling with all the other offensive players here. The way the team plays is very good for us to find space, to find the solution, and between my team-mates and me there is a very good connection."
If his form continues as it is, we can expect that connection to grow. But don't be fooled by those dazzling feet, it's Hazard's approach to the game that sets him apart from the rest.
