Both Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports have confirmed that the Brewers and Rangers have completed a deal for Yovani Gallardo, sending him to Texas.
Gallardo Linked to Rangers

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports first reported the Rangers were expected to land Gallardo:
"#Rangers on verge of trading for #Brewers’ Yovani Gallardo, sources tell me and @jonmorosi.

LoneStarBall.com's Adam J. Morris analyzed the financial implications of Gallardo's future:
Despite the rumors surrounding a move, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram noted that nothing is imminent from Texas' perspective:
Rosenthal offered up one player who the Brewers may receive in exchange for Gallardo:
Gallardo, 28, has been a steady starter for the past six seasons and still has years ahead of him. The veteran right-handed hurler posted a decent 3.51 ERA in 2014 but managed just an 8-11 record, reflected in his 2.4 wins above replacement (WAR), per ESPN.com.
The Rangers have long needed to address their pitching woes and haven't done an adequate job in doing so.
Bringing in Gallardo would be a step in the right direction for a team that ranked 28th in team ERA this last year. However, Gallardo hasn't been quite as productive in terms of strikeouts in the last two seasons, compiling a total of 290 after logging 200 or more in each of the four years prior.
Given that Gallardo is only under contract for one more year, Milwaukee is wise to make this reported move instead of letting him walk without any compensation. The move is affordable for the Brewers, considering their staff was third in MLB in quality starts.
