The battle between the Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers is one of the most anticipated matchups of the entire postseason, and the chatter for the game has started early.

Green Bay leans heavily on its offensive unit and star quarterback Rodgers, but the unit will face its toughest test of the year against the vaunted Seattle defense. Rodgers has been dealing with a calf injury as well, but the biggest threat he’ll face Sunday will be Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman.

When asked about playing against Sherman and how he affects the team’s offensive game plan, Rodgers told Jared Dubin of CBSSports.com:

"

Look at the numbers, they don't lie. Not a lot of guys catch passes on his side, and for the amount of times he's targeted, his interception totals are very impressive. You just have to play your game, but if he's locking his guy down, he's probably not going to get a lot of passes thrown his way.

"

Seattle’s offense will also be a major threat against the inconsistent Packers defense, but it could be the Seahawks' ability to close games that should ultimately help the team advance to the Super Bowl for the second straight season.

When asked about their success in the latter stages of games, Seattle wide receiver Doug Baldwin told George Willis of the New York Post:

"

You don’t win games in the first half. You don’t win games in the third quarter. You win games in the fourth quarter. Whatever happened in the first half doesn’t matter. We know when we come out of that locker room at halftime, it’s 0-0 and we’ve got to go win the second half. That’s our mentality. It’s a whole new ballgame for us.

"

The ultimate difference in this matchup will be how well Green Bay shuts down Lynch and the Seattle rushing attack. The Seahawks finished the season ranked first in rushing yards per game with 172.6, and the Packers have struggled stopping the run, finishing the regular season 23rd overall by allowing 119.9 yards per game.

With Green Bay’s secondary playing well against the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round, Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson will depend on Lynch even more. If the Packers can’t stop the Seahawks' run-first game plan, the defending Super Bowl champions will be heading back to the title game.
