Wager Worth the Educated Risk
Betting on one of the four remaining teams to win the Super Bowl is a relatively safe wager regardless of which team you think will win, but the safest of all gambles will be the Seattle Seahawks winning their second championship in two seasons.
On the offensive side of the ball, Seattle has been almost unstoppable. Led by running back Marshawn Lynch, the Seahawks finished the regular season first in rushing yards per game with 172.6 and continued that momentum in the divisional round against the Carolina Panthers.
The pass attack wasn’t as dangerous as it was last season, but the ability of quarterback Russell Wilson to keep plays alive and protect the football is all Seattle needs from him. Sticking with the stellar rushing attack will be the key to the Seahawks' success.
On the defensive side of the ball, there are few teams in the NFL that can come close to the talent Seattle possesses. After 16 regular-season games, the Seahawks were ranked first against the pass (allowing just 185.6 yards per game) and third against the run (allowing just 81.5 yards per game.)
In the NFC Championship Game, Seattle will face one of its toughest tests of the year against a dangerous Green Bay Packers team, but the Seahawks already managed to beat Aaron Rodgers and his cohorts earlier this season.
If Pete Carroll and the Seahawks can advance past Green Bay, there is little doubt the team will be favorites in the Super Bowl as well.
Predicted Final Score: Seattle 27, Green Bay 24
