Most Underrated Player in the Playoffs: Haloti Ngata, DE, Baltimore Ravens

The normal suspects are stealing most of the headlines this week, as Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady take the field in the divisional round, but the most underrated player this weekend is Baltimore Ravens defensive end Haloti Ngata.
At 6'4" and 340 pounds, Ngata is a unique mixture of elite run-stopper and dominant pass-rusher, and he showed that against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card Round. He amassed two tackles in the game, but he registered a sack, a quarterback hit and a pass deflection as well.
Ngata missed the final four regular-season games after violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy and being subsequently suspended. The defensive end admitted his use of Adderall and accepted his punishment.
As Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com pointed out, how Ngata handled the suspension is the key to his ability to play in the postseason:
When asked about how it felt to return to the field, Ngata told Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun, via the Carroll County Times:
"Awesome, amazing, I can't thank the team enough to help let me play another game and we get another win and get to play another week. It's just an amazing feeling to be able to come back and play again. I was able to describe to my team how much I appreciate them and just happy to be playing again.
"
Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL.com spoke about the leadership qualities Ngata possesses:
While there is no doubt that the big defensive end was a welcomed return to the lineup last week, his impact should be an even bigger factor Saturday against the New England Patriots in the divisional round.
Brady has played the Ravens many times over the last several years and has become all too familiar with Ngata. As a pocket passer, the thought of Ngata collapsing the pocket is one at the forefront of Brady's mind when playing Baltimore.
With Ngata relatively fresh after missing the final four weeks of the regular season and working off the rust against Pittsburgh, the Ravens will be looking for him to be a game-changer on the defensive side of the ball.
