Lallana Returns vs. West Brom
Saturday, April 25
Liverpool's official Twitter feed reported Lallana subbed on in the 74th minute against West Brom. Earlier in the day, Liverpool's official Twitter feed reported that Lallana is amongst the subs against West Brom.
On April 23, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers told reporters that Lallana had returned to training and could play against West Brom on Saturday, according to Liverpool's official website: "Lallana has come back into training in the last few days. We'll see how he is for the weekend, but none of the others will be fit, I would have thought."
Lallana hasn't been the marvel many at Anfield might have hoped since completing a £25 million move from Southampton last summer, but he is undoubtedly one of the more versatile assets under Rodgers' command.
Taking his time to acclimate since switching to Merseyside, the 26-year-old has been showing signs of marked improvement, according to James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo:
If the Reds are to maintain any hope of a top-four finish this season, depth will be a key component as they look to weather a period of the season when injuries become all the more significant.
Without Lallana's services, players such as Fabio Borini are given greater responsibility, and there is increased pressure on Rodgers' more reliable playmakers, such as Philippe Coutinho.
