Joe Person of The Charlotte Observer originally reported Brown's injury:
Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports that Brown had an MRI, but his status is the same:
Brown had to leave the team's 27-16 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday after he fell awkwardly on his arm while attempting to catch a Cam Newton pass in the end zone. He had three receptions for 37 yards.
Brown emerged as a weapon for the Panthers in his rookie season, catching 21 passes for 296 yards and two touchdowns while also contributing in the return game and registering a punt return for a touchdown in the regular season.
If Brown is unable to play this weekend, Brenton Bersin would step into the No. 3 role in the passing game. While Brown's loss wouldn't be as impactful to Carolina's passing game as the absence of Kelvin Benjamin or Greg Olsen would be, he did lead the team with six targets at the time of his injury on Saturday.
Bucky Brooks of NFL.com tweeted about one aspect of Carolina's offense that would suffer without Brown:
Clearly, Newton and company trust Brown enough to make him a big part of the postseason game plan. They'd certainly prefer he was available come the divisional round.
