Infamous David Moyes 'The Chosen One' Banner to Be Auctioned Off for Charity
The fans' group that made the infamous David Moyes "The Chosen One" banner will auction it off for charity.
The banner hung at Old Trafford during Moyes' disastrous spell at Manchester United and has been kept in storage at Old Trafford since the Scotsman left the club.
Moyes was sacked in April after less than a year in charge, with United languishing in seventh position in the Premier League table.

The banner cost United fans' group Stretford End Flags £450 to make. The club told the group it must now pick up the banner.
Andrew Kilduff, a member of the group, is quoted in the The Telegraph as saying:
"The Chosen One banner is still in a storage room at Old Trafford. United have actually told us that he needs collecting as it belongs to us, but we just haven’t got round to it yet.
The National Football Museum had been keen to have it, but they haven’t been back in touch, so we will probably look to auction it for charity now.
We have auctioned a couple of banners in the past - we raised £2,000 for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s charity by selling one of his - so it would be nice to do something similar with the Chosen One.
"
Kilduff also said he got the impression Moyes himself never liked the banner and that there had been plans to hold a vote on its removal just before he was sacked.
Kilduff said the group planned to raise money for a new banner, with homages to Bobby Charlton and Bryan Robson listed as possibilities.
Well, at least there is little danger of fans turning on those tributes.
