Liverpool Transfer News: Saido Berahino Rumours Rubbished by West Brom
West Brom have moved quickly to dismiss links about Saido Berahino leaving the club to join Liverpool in a multi-million-pound transfer.
The Premier League side, who are currently without a coach after sacking Alan Irvine, announced on their official Twitter account on Tuesday that they would not be selling the England striker in a big-money deal with the Anfield giants:

James Nursey of the Daily Mirror recently told TalkSport that Berahino could be on his way from the Hawthorns with speculation of a £23 million bid in the pipeline between West Brom and Brendan Rodgers:
"There is no imminent deal but with January not far away and if he continues to misfire, West Brom could cash in. West Brom have withdrawn their contract offer [to Berahino.] He is not really delivering for West Brom at the moment.
"
Berahino was arguably the hottest player in the Premier League at the start of the season, forcing his way onto Roy Hodgson's England squad.

However, the attacker has seen his role reduced to that of a substitute in the past few matches, despite his record standing at seven goals in 19 Premier League games, per Squawka.com.
His loss of form has seen West Brom capitulate, and it was only a matter of time before Irvine lost his job as a consequence.
Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail says both Liverpool and Tottenham both want to acquire the player now and will battle it out for his signature in the coming weeks.
Mokbel writes West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace values Berahino at the £25 million mark but that Liverpool will want that figure reduced.
However, Darren Lewis from the Mirror now says Spurs have dropped their interest in the player, leaving Liverpool in the clear:
Berahino is a fine young prospect who has already shown he has a true pedigree in the Premier League—but it is questionable whether he is the correct target for Liverpool at this time.
Rodgers needs to look for his next Luis Suarez and find a world-class talent to add to his squad, as well as rebuilding his fragile defence and finding a top goalkeeper.
Berahino appears to blow hot and cold, and if he cannot make it into a struggling West Brom first XI—would he get into Liverpool's team?
At present, that answer would be no, and at the price quoted, it would be a ridiculous transfer at such a huge price.
Berahino could still become a huge star in the future, but his best bet is to knuckle down at his current club and rediscover his electric form of just a few short months ago.
