With a 31-15 dispatching of the Chicago Bears, the New Orleans Saints have won their third consecutive road game, and in the process, they've claimed sole ownership of first place in the NFC South.
The Saints relied on an all-around effort in this one, as they combined a high-flying passing attack with an aggressive defense to overwhelm the homestanding Bears.
Drew Brees led the way for New Orleans. He completed 29 of 36 passes for 375 yards, and more importantly, he didn't commit a costly turnover. He also distributed the ball to nine different receivers, while tossing three touchdown passes.

On the other side of the ball, the New Orleans pass rush gave Jay Cutler fits, as the Chicago quarterback was dropped for seven sacks. Cutler was also intercepted three times on the night, with Saints safety Pierre Warren snagging two of the picks.
After a scoreless first quarter, New Orleans mounted consecutive scoring drives of 85 and 95 yards, and Sean Payton's squad took a 14-0 lead into the locker room.
The Saints put together another methodical touchdown drive to open the second half, and they added a field goal to go up 24-0 in the late in the third quarter.
Chicago reached the end zone twice in the fourth quarter, but it was too little, too late. A 15-yard fourth-quarter touchdown run by Mark Ingram sealed it for New Orleans, as the Bears fell to 5-9 on the season.
The Saints now sit atop their division at 6-8, and they'll face the Atlanta Falcons next Sunday in a crucial NFC South showdown.
