WWE's Top Tweets, Instagram Photos and Viral Videos for Week of December 8
Damien Mizdow's show-stealing ways continued as he provided some of the week's best WWE-related social media.
He didn't win all the Slammy Awards that he was nominated for, but the viral video he starred in is its own victory. The other top tweets, Instagram photos and shareable content from the WWE world came by way of CM Punk heading to UFC, NXT TakeOver: R Evolution and a celebration of the ladder.
Punk signing with the top MMA company in the world over the weekend was huge news.

Reactions from fighters ranged from anger to issuing a challenge. The most powerful response came from Robbie Lawler, who reached out to the former WWE Superstar via Twitter:
Not everyone has been as welcoming to Punk as the current welterweight champ, so The Best in the World has to appreciate this.
WWE itself had a brief but pleasant message for Punk. The company couldn't dwell on the news that Punk will not be coming back to the squared circle; it had an award ceremony to conduct.
The 2014 Slammy Awards made it tough to hype the TLC pay-per-view on Raw, but there were certainly some memorable moments.
One of those came when Hall of Famer Ricky Steamboat presented the Match of the Year award. It was great to see him back, causing memories of his own classic bouts to come rushing back.
WWE caught a great shot of him backstage, looking dapper as ever:
Instagram also offered a behind-the-scenes look at Seth Green, the host of the Slammys. Green sought out Mizdow and posed with him for the cameras:
Green's tough-guy face needs work. Perhaps Mizdow can help him there.
The increasingly popular stunt double was the star of a new video showcasing The Miz's School of Performance. In the following clip, he demonstrates how to jump from emotion to emotion:
Add that to the times he has made fans laugh with his new shtick.
While Raw was filled with silly moments and fun cameos, things got more series by the time Thursday rolled around. That's when NXT put on its latest live special—TakeOver: R Evolution.
The event was special for a number of reasons, Kevin Owen's in-ring debut for the company being chief among them.
Former Ring of Honor wrestler Nigel McGuinness sent Owens a heartfelt tweet before his big night:
Owens himself offered fans a look at him pre-battle:
"A little under 2 hours...#NXTTakeOver @WWENXT @WWE pic.twitter.com/4gUI5HMzKy
— Kevin Owens (@FightOwensFight) December 11, 2014"
He looked plenty contemplative there, trying to absorb what was about to happen. Bloody nose and all, Owens would impress in his first foray into the WWE world. He knocked off CJ Parker before turning on his longtime friend Sami Zayn.
Finn Balor would later make his own headlines thanks to him bringing his body-paint gimmick to NXT. With fangs painted across his throat, he left as big of an impression as anyone else that night.
Balor shared a startling closeup of himself all painted up:
When all the matches were done, a new champion crowned, a successful show in the books, Triple H had Vince McMahon on the mind. The chairman's comments to Steve Austin about the roster not being ambitious enough and not reaching out for the proverbial brass ring must have been ringing in his head.
Triple H referenced that in a tongue-in-cheek tweet:
TLC is set to follow NXT's latest home run. It will be time for the emerging stars on the main roster to do their own brass ring-grabbing.
Many of them will have the advantage of having ladders in the ring. As WWE's collection of stunning ladder moments reminds us, that's a heck of a tool for wrestlers to possess.
Dolph Ziggler, Luke Harper, Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose can add their names to the long history of lasting ladder-centric images. Mizdow, meanwhile, will be looking to put his own stamp on the show, no hardware needed.
