Lacy Active vs. Seahawks
Sunday, Jan. 18
The Green Bay Packers confirmed that Eddie Lacy is active for Sunday's game vs. Seattle. Lacy was previously listed as probable on Friday, Jan. 16, via ESPN's Rob Demovsky.
Demovsky had more from Lacy and head coach Mike McCarthy on the injury:
""I'm not concerned; I'm chillin," Lacy said during a brief appearance in the Packers' locker room on Friday before the team headed out for Sunday's NFC Championship Game at the Seattle Seahawks.
"
Coach Mike McCarthy pulled Lacy out of practice on Thursday, saying he got nervous about soreness in his starting running back's knee.
"Looks good to me, walking in and out of meetings," McCarthy said Friday. "He'll be ready to play."
Lacy Added to Injury Report With Knee Injury
Thursday, Jan. 15
According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Lacy is dealing with a knee injury:
ESPN's Jason Wilde provided comments from head coach Mike McCarthy:
Lacy has turned his season around after a slow start. He appeared to be suffering through a sophomore slump in the first four games, rushing for 161 total yards, one touchdown and not averaging more than 3.3 yards per carry in any game.
Since that slow start, Lacy has been closer to the running back that ended 2013. NFL director of NFC football communications Randall Liu tweeted out that Lacy became the first Green Bay player with at least 100 yards from scrimmage in six consecutive games, which he set during the Packers' win over Atlanta in Week 14:
The Packers don't have one of the more dynamic running games in the NFL. There's not much flash to what Lacy does bowling opponents over and accelerating when he hits that second level, but it's a perfect counter to what Rodgers does with the passing game.
But with Rodgers also nursing a calf injury, it's imperative that Lacy is at full health against Seattle. The two teams clash on Sunday at CenturyLink Field to determine which will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.
