Extra! Extra! Reds Drop To Cellar!
Extra! Extra! Read all about it: The Cincinnati Reds are now in the cellar.
It took them all year to do it, but by God they did it! Move over Bucs.
Six losses in a row—that ties our season high. But hey, the Cubbies are in town tonight so it could get worse.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Six losses in a row...is that so bad? It could be worse, but when you look back beyond that last win you see six more L's" looking at you. Actually, in the last 19 games the Reds are 3-16 (.158).
I don't want to paint a portrait of total gloom, so let us look on the bright side.
Our brand new third baseman Scott Rolen was beaned by Jason Marquis. No, that is not the good news. The good news is that it didn't kill him or put him on the shelf...I don't think.
Rolen did show a little life with his glove over the weekend, but he is hitless as a Redleg thus far. I can't believe that the announcers are calling him a possible future Hall of Famer. What's up with that?
Walt Jocketty said Rolen is better than Brooks Robinson. Defensively? I don't think so. Offensively? He better be, or we really got screwed.
Arroyo pitched decently yesterday and Arthur Rhodes pitched us out of a win this time.
Bronson actually survived the first inning with a zero on the scoreboard.
Justin Lehr pitched Friday night and did fairly well for his first start as a Red. He went five innings and gave up 4 H, 3 R and 6 BB. Well, at least he didn't blow up completely. He showed some promise.
Am I the only one in the room who thinks Alex Gonzalez is a big disappointment and is not going to improve? Since the Reds have obviously given up on the season, why not give Paul Janish some playing time?
Ten players on the DL—that's unbelievable. To a casual viewer watching the games, it probably looks like Votto and Phillips were sent to the minors.
I am especially fond of the no-name outfield we now pencil in each day. Sutton in left, Nix in center and Gomes in right.
We are currently on pace to lose 100 games, and I am saying that we make it. If my calculations are right, we could still win 29 percent of our games (which is almost double what we are doing now) and break 100. How pitiful is that?
You do what you want, but I am going to strap myself in the DeLorean, dial up 1961 to Crosley Field and watch Robinson, Pinson, Coleman, Freeze and Lynch kick some serious ass.
