Christian Eriksen Contract: Latest News, Speculation on Tottenham Negotiations
Christian Eriksen will reportedly wait until the end of the season before deciding on his Tottenham future after rejecting a contract extension in November.
Danish newspaper BT (translated by 101 Great Goals) suggest Martin Schoots, Eriksen's agent, has told Spurs to wait until the current campaign's climax before offering improved terms. This is allegedly so the creative midfielder can concentrate on football and not have his performances affected by ongoing negotiations, as noted by 101GG.
Eriksen was linked with Manchester United and Liverpool before heading to White Hart Lane in 2013. Despite only delivering in bursts so far for Spurs, the former Ajax star is only 22 and can be considered one of the sport's top talents.

He has struck five goals in 15 Premier League appearances this campaign, making him Spurs' second top scorer in the division behind Nacer Chadli. Eriksen is yet to provide an assist, but he has hit a stretch of form behind Harry Kane, whose busyness opens space in which the playmaker can operate.
Worryingly for Spurs, Schoots told Tuttomercatoweb (via Ejder Akbal of Sky Sports) in 2013 that Eriksen would only exit Ajax "to join a team that are automatically qualified for the Champions League and fighting for the title every season." Spurs are unlikely to challenge for the Premier League crown anytime soon and are five points behind Southampton, who occupy the final European spot. This gap will extend if Saints overcome United on Monday night.
Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc admitted Eriksen is "one" of the Ajax graduates he "enormously" likes, as reported by Tom Collomosse of the London Evening Standard. The youngster was named Spurs' Player of the Year during his debut season—despite rarely excelling across a consistent stretch of games—underlining his potential quality in the near future.

Eriksen has proven himself willing to work hard for the team this term. No Spurs player made more tackles during the win over Everton, a match in which his 90.5 percent pass accuracy also led the way. His goal was extremely intelligent, leaving Tim Howard with little chance of scrambling across the line, as noted by Oliver Holt of the Daily Mirror:
Spurs fans are used to losing key players at the end of disappointing seasons. Luka Modric and Gareth Bale have both departed after lighting up the north London side, so it's obvious to see why Daniel Levy reportedly wants to tie Eriksen up.
However, the starlet's ambitions—much like those who left before him—may begin to outweigh the realistic expectations of the club. Levy would still be wise to insert some sort of buyout clause into his paperwork, but Eriksen's alleged disinterest in a new deal may act as a precursor to an inevitable exit.
