Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid Reportedly Agree to New Contract
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly agreed terms on a new contract at the Bernabeu which will keep him in charge until 2017.
His current deal is set to expire at the end of next season, but reports in Spain (h/t Eurosport) say that new terms have already been reached between the club and the veteran Italian manager. An announcement should be made after Real take part in the Club World Cup, set to finish on Dec. 20.
Los Blancos qualified for the Morocco tournament as a result of Ancelotti leading them to Champions League glory last season in his first term in charge—Real also won the Copa del Rey.

After such a successful opening season in charge, it is unsurprising that Real are eager to sign him up to a new contract, especially considering his rightful position as one of the world's best managers, per ESPN FC's Miguel Delaney.
Delaney notes in his piece that while Ancelotti has had incredible success in Europe—his three Champions League titles matched only by Bob Paisley—he has been less successful at winning domestic titles on a consistent basis.
However, he is currently doing a sterling job in La Liga with Real topping the table by two points, and reports of Ancelotti's new contract will likely serve only as more good news for Madrid's players as they look to succeed on all fronts this term.
