Manchester City Report Record Revenues in 2014
Manchester City, along with several other high-profile clubs, were hit with UEFA Financial Fair Play sanctions last year. Now, the club is claiming that it has actually recorded record profits in 2014.
The club's official website provides further details:
"This year’s report reveals that the Club has broken the £300m threshold for revenues for the first time in its history, with £347m of income being generated. The report also reveals a bottom line loss of £23m for 2013-14. This figure includes the accounting of £16m that recognises the total UEFA sanctions imposed in May 2014 following disputed breaches of its Financial Fair Play regulations.

"We have moved beyond the period of heavy investment that was required to make the Club competitive again, it is commercial growth of the kind we are seeing today that will underpin and support our operations in the future," Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak noted in the press release.
Chief Executive Officer Ferran Soriano added the club has established “a new level of financial sustainability," has halved its losses for three years running and, in turn, suggests that the Financial Fair Play issues of the past should now go by the wayside.
Last year's punishments from UEFA handed down in May—a fine, a transfer spending limit and roster restrictions during Champions League play—haven't seemed to hamper the Citizens too much this season. City are currently second on the Premier League table, six points behind red-hot Chelsea.
However, their Champions League struggles have continued and they enter Matchday 6 in the group stage tied with Roma and CSKA Moskow behind first-place Bayern Munich.
Still, City remain one of England's most talented clubs. The fact that they continue to cycle talented players throughout their squad while reportedly improving their financial situation is further indication that City are a Premier League power here to stay.
