Borussia Dortmund: Full Report Card for Every Position for November
Borussia Dortmund had a rather rotten November. They suffered their first defeat in the Champions League, continued misfortune in the Bundesliga and an injury to star player Marco Reus.
As such, Jurgen Klopp will be glad to see the back of the month and be looking forward to a much-needed winter break in mid-December.
However, such luxuries aren't afforded to us here at Bleacher Report, so we welcome you to join us in reviewing the players who did and didn't perform in the black and yellow of Dortmund in November.
Note: Some players have been excluded due to a lack of game time.
Goalkeeper and Defence
1 of 3
Neven Subotic: B
With a number of stars missing from Dortmund's defence during November, Klopp has turned to Neven Subotic for inspiration and leadership, and the Serbia international has largely responded well.
Although not without fault, the experienced defender has done his best to keep the defence together despite horrendous team performances.
Sokratis Papastathopoulos: B
Sokratis Papastathopoulos has been one of Dortmund's most consistent players throughout this bumpy season, but the Greece international only managed two league appearances for the club in November. He was sorely missed.
Roman Weidenfeller: C
Despite Dortmund's horrendous defensive record over the past month, very little criticism has landed at goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller's feet. The vice-captain has looked a shadow of his former self this season and offered nothing but grief for his manager. Perhaps it's time Klopp looked elsewhere for a shot-stopper.
Lukasz Piszczek: C
Dortmund have missed the expertise of Lukasz Piszczek this season, and with his return in November, many expected an upturn in results. However, the Polish full-back hasn't quite been himself following injury and looked far from his best despite keeping his spot in the first team.
Marcel Schmelzer: C
Marcel Schmelzer may have only played 90 minutes in November, but the full-back looked above some of the atrocious performances seen in Dortmund's defence over the course of the month. Still just a bit-part player at the moment, he is a competent option when he is called into the team.
Erik Durm: C
Regarded very highly by Klopp and a number of Dortmund fans, Erik Durm has failed to match his breakthrough performances from last season. The right-footed left-back has stumbled through games, offered very little at both ends of the pitch and now risks losing his spot to Schmelzer.
Matthias Ginter: D
Replacing the injured Sokratis and Mats Hummels, Matthias Ginter has struggled immensely with the demands of first-team football. Still young and with plenty of support at the club, Ginter may one day be the player he's promised to be, but he's a long way from it right now.

Sven Bender: B
As Dortmund continued to falter in defence, Klopp took some much needed respite from despair in the performances of Sven Bender. The Germany international was injured in pre-season and didn't look great earlier in the campaign, but he has quietly returned to prominence in Dortmund's midfield.
Sebastian Kehl: B
Klopp regularly called upon this former captain over the month of November to contend with the injuries sustained by his squad. Fortunately, Sebastian Kehl still possesses the grit and commitment that has made him a legend of the club's recent past.
Kevin Grosskreutz: B
We're not quite sure what to call Kevin Grosskreutz these days, but for the most part, the Germany international played on the left wing for Dortmund in November. Covering for the injured Marco Reus, Grosskreutz hasn't come close to replacing his colleague in terms of goals or assists but has offered his usual determination and work ethic.
Shinji Kagawa: C+
Shinji Kagawa hasn't quite reclaimed his spot in the Dortmund first XI this season and didn't play a full 90 minutes in November, but he has looked bright when given a chance. Composed, quick and decisively skilled, Kagawa is quite easily one of Dortmund's most talented players and should turn things round before too long.
Ilkay Gundogan: C
Like so many others in this squad, Ilkay Gundogan has just returned from injury and looked nothing like his former self in both the Champions League and Bundesliga. Perhaps still far from match fitness, Gundogan has yet to prove that he could return to this team and hold down a first-team spot.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan: D
Klopp will never fault a player for running through walls for his side, but it may be about time he sat down with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and asked him to step up his game in front of goal. The attacking midfielder has shown spirit, but his touch, shooting and general sharpness has been lacking this season. The Armenian should be scoring, be he simply isn't.
Attack
3 of 3
Marco Reus: A
Marco Reus only played two league games in the month of November, scoring two goals in the process. As such, he did a lot more than most of his team-mates over the past 30 days. Now out with injury until the new year, the Germany international will be sorely missed up front.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: A
Remember when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looked intimidated, shy and somewhat short of talent last season? Well, that simply isn't the case anymore; the forward is one of Dortmund's best and most consistent performers. He may have only picked up one goal in November, but he has been Dortmund's key goal threat whenever Reus has been off the pitch.
Adrian Ramos: D
Adrian Ramos featured in almost all of Dortmund's games in the past month but still amassed less than 90 minutes over the course of the past four games.
Ciro Immobile: D
Italian striker Ciro Immobile's only real appearance for Dortmund in November was his start against Arsenal, a game in which he managed to do very little. No league goals and very little time on the pitch for the striker lately.
