Chris Paul Crossing More Than Ankles
After only four years in the NBA the New Orleans Hornets All-Star Chris Paul has already become a premier point guard in the NBA.
Paul, who has a 19.4ppg and 9.9 apg career average, has been just as hard-working off the court also.
This past June Paul hosted the fourth annual Winston-Salem Weekend. This two-day charity raises money for a host of non-profit organizations and organizations in his hometown and New Orleans.
This event is only the tip of the iceberg for Paul’s CP3 Foundation. The CP 3 Foundation is a sponsor of Meals-On-Wheels, the Special Olympics of North Carolina, and Feed the Children.
The 24-year old Paul, who has already had a busy offseason with birth of his first child and added some muscle to his physique, is also going to make his second trip to China in as many years.
Paul was there last year as part of the “Redeem Team” USA Basketball Team at the Beijing Olympics. Paul enjoyed the experience so much, that he will return there on Aug. 2 through the 4th. Except this time, he will be an NBA ambassador.
His trip includes, arriving into Tianjin on a Sunday, and then proceeding to Guangzhou where he will host a basketball clinic on Monday and Tuesday. At the clinic, an outdoor court will be dedicated to the community.
After his trip to China, Paul will return to New Orleans where he will continue to work on improving his strength. One of Paul’s goals is to be more prepared physically when playoff time comes around. He has added 10-15 pounds since his rookie year. After logging nearly 40 minutes a game last season, he was worn down in their first round defeat to the Denver Nuggets. Paul is hoping his new bulk will help keep him from getting tired in the playoffs.
Thank you Chris Paul for giving us so much to cheer about.
