Bleacher Report's Ligue 1 writer, Jonathan Johnson, confirmed the shocking news:

Tuesday's allegations emerge as police investigate whether "illicit commissions" were taken by club officials during Marseille's purchase of Gignac from Toulouse, per the aforementioned report.
According to RMC, as noted by ESPN FC's Jonathan Johnson, the Gignac transfer is not the only one under investigation:
The story comes as a double blow for French football after Reuters, via The Guardian, reported the arrests of two further club presidents, this time for allegations of match-fixing.
Reuters says nine people have been arrested including Caen and Nimes presidents Jean-François Fortin and Jean-Marc Conrad.
Johnson once again confirmed the details of the arrests:
The scandals are sure to throw French football into turmoil and blacken the name of Ligue 1 at a time of huge interest, due to the investments at Paris Saint-Germain.
Reuters says both Nimes and Caen have not commented at present.
