Real Madrid Transfer News: David De Gea Reacts to Manchester United Exit Rumours
David de Gea has addressed speculation linking him with a move to European champions Real Madrid, leaving an open-ended response to news he may return to the Spanish capital.
The former Atletico Madrid stopper is believed to be causing concern at Old Trafford after stalling on a new contract, but De Gea is fully aware of the rumours, speaking with Spanish television station La Sexta (h/t Daily Star's Colin Harvey) regarding his future:
"I feel very loved at Manchester United. It's difficult to know whether an offer will come from Real Madrid because there's chatter in the press. I feel very wanted in Manchester. If you looked at what is said about you in the media, you would think you were at thousands of clubs, so you have to be focused on where you are.

Louis van Gaal's No. 1 is particularly adored at Old Trafford after featuring as one of the side's more impressive individuals this season.
However, the Red Devils may not feel abundantly confident in De Gea's comments. While the keeper is quick to speak of his appreciation for the fans' support, he also fails to dismiss the possibility of a La Liga return, which is what supporters would prefer to hear.

Having joined Atletico's academy at the age of 10, De Gea can't be blamed for feeling a certain urge to one day return to his hometown, and the Bernabeu is currently as coveted a destination as any other.
All speculation regarding a move is on hold for now at least, however, with Adam Crafton of the Daily Mail confirming De Gea as an injury concern for United. Crafton notes his importance given recent form:
"Daley Blind now injured as well? Quite extraordinary injury list #mufc racking up. De Gea/Blind particularly bad ones to lose.

Carlo Ancelotti's goalkeeping make-up has changed drastically in recent months. Although Iker Casillas has reigned as the first choice following Diego Lopez's move to Milan over the summer, faith in Los Blancos' veteran isn't what it once was.
Costa Rican international Keylor Navas was signed in the same window as cover, but De Gea would be a much more substantial move for the Spanish giants, likely to boast a significant price tag.
In his report, Harvey touches upon the notion that De Gea could be used as bait in order to bring Gareth Bale back to the English top flight.
The 24-year-old can't be faulted for honesty, and irrespective of what his interests may be, his priorities lay firmly at Old Trafford for now.
In 11 Premier League games this season, De Gea has kept three clean sheets and made an average of 1.36 saves per goal, having to deal with an ever-changing defence along the way.

United's back-line injuries will have undoubtedly had a trickle-down effect on De Gea, affecting his communication with less familiar characters such as Paddy McNair and others.
Since coming to United in 2011, the stopper has shown remarkable improvement to take his place as one of the division's most reliable performers in his position and one which Van Gaal will be desperate to retain.
Should Real indeed choose to make good on their alleged interest, however, De Gea may find his loyalties tested.
