Arsenal Transfer News: Petr Cech Warning Sounded by Legend David Seaman
Legendary Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has warned his former club against making a move for out-of-favour Chelsea stopper Petr Cech, insisting it is now time to stick by No. 1 Wojciech Szczesny.
Seaman, who spent 13 years at Arsenal, believes the Polish goalkeeper has done enough to justify his manager's continued faith, despite the club conceding too many goals at crucial times in games.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Seaman said:

"Wojciech is coming off his best season last season with Arsenal and I don’t think that anybody warrants taking his place because he is not making mistakes.
Arsenal are conceding goals, but it is not through goalkeeping errors that they are conceding.
"
Thus far in 2014-15, the Gunners have conceded a respectable 13 goals in 11 games. However, in recent weeks, they have conceded twice to both Hull City and Swansea City in games that they should have been winning.
It is a continued trend with Arsenal that they appear to display a soft underbelly in what is actually a good attacking side. However, Seaman is also correct in stating that the issues do not lie with Szczesny for the most part.
After his side let a three-goal lead slip against Anderlecht recently, Szczesny branded his side's mistakes "stupidity."
"Szczesny "What happened [the 3-3], I would not call bad luck. Rather, our own stupidity. It’s stupidity and lack of experience.”

The Pole, who came through the Arsenal academy setup, actually shared the Premier League's Golden Glove award with Cech last campaign for the greatest number of clean sheets.
Both managed a fine tally of 16, per The Independent's Simon Rice.
Cech is undoubtedly a tempting option lying just across the city at Stamford Bridge. Whether Chelsea would consent to sell to Arsenal is another matter, but Cech's credentials as a top-class goalkeeper cannot be doubted.
Simply buying a new No. 1 without reinforcing what is a threadbare defence or even finding a genuine defensive midfielder for the side would solve few of their concerns at the back, though.

This weekend, the Gunners will face another major test of their top-four credentials when they take on a David de Gea-less Manchester United side.
Wenger's team will need to perform to their best to get a win, and it will be in defense—against the likes of Angel Di Maria, Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney—where the sternest tests lie.
A defeat would lead to more major soul-searching at the Emirates ahead of the rapidly approaching January window. Szczesny may be a relatively innocent party in Arsenal's recent defensive mishaps, but the Gunners could doubtless benefit from several changes to their defensive line should better options surface.
