Overview
Pakistan come into this second Test on the back of a very impressive win by 248 runs in the first game over their visitors.
The hosts racked up 566-3 declared in their first innings thanks to centuries from Ahmed Shehzad, Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq, then bowled out the away side for 262.
Having decided not to enforce the follow on, Pakistan batted again and made 175-2 declared, with Mohammad Hafeez in the runs with an unbeaten ton of his own.
Then, chasing a target of 480 for victory, the Black Caps crumbled to 231 all out, with only Ish Sodhi passing fifty at No. 10.
Pakistan have had some bad news since the conclusion of that game, however, as Hafeez has been reported for a suspect bowling action and must undergo testing.
However, he will remain in the team for their remaining games, and the hosts will want to wrap up another comfortable victory and take the series crown also.

Key Players
Misbah-ul-Haq
Having scored three consecutive centuries in his last three Test innings, Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq is in brilliant form for his country.
If he is able to maintain that consistency, the hosts will be very confident of further success.
Ish Sodhi
He only took three wickets last time out, but Ish Sodhi remains a crucial bowler for New Zealand on the slow, turning wickets in the United Arab Emirates.
If he can shake off his struggles last time out and take advantage of the conditions, the visitors should be in a much better position to limit Pakistan’s batsmen.
