Divock Origi Progressing Nicely Away from Liverpool
Liverpool's loaned forward, Divock Origi, was on target for his country on Wednesday night, scoring an impressive goal for Belgium against Iceland in a 3-1 friendly win.
The goal, hit by Origi on his weaker side cutting in from the right, was timed at an impressive 64.6 mph.
The 19-year-old replaced Chelsea winger Eden Hazard at half-time and put in an impressive 45-minute display for his country. That seems to be becoming a place for him to really shine, performing well whenever he represents his national side, having been on target during the last international break, too.

Origi, who was signed by Liverpool in the summer for a reported £10 million (as per the Guardian) is currently back on loan at Lille as part of the deal that saw him sign for The Reds.

He hasn't been quite prolific for the French side, with only three goals from his eleven appearances in Ligue 1 this campaign. He does have one assist, though, and has created nine chances—so almost one per game (as per Squawka).
This is good for Liverpool, as it shows he is developing another side to his game and is also playing in wider roles rather than just directly up front. He's learning the game and developing well, seemingly.
His shot accuracy, meanwhile, is a respectable 50 percent—better than any other Liverpool forward so far this season. However, that is lower than his 72 percent shot accuracy last season for Lille, a season that saw him score five times in 29 appearances.
In Europe, where Lille are in the Europa League, Origi has made four appearances—including home and away against Everton—scoring once, against Wolfsburg. Lille are third in their group and looking unlikely to progress to the latter stages, which is a shame, as it means Origi won't get as much exposure to European football—especially with Champions League sides dropping into the competition after Christmas.
In the league, Lille are struggling, too, with just four wins from their opening 13 games, sitting 14th in Ligue 1. Indeed, Origi's three goals see him as their top scorer—and the only player to have scored more than one league goal this season.
January
There were some rather tenuous reports last month that Liverpool would look to recall Origi from his loan early in January, such as this from the Express' Anthony Chapman. They seemed to be little more than the work of fiction, though, and Lille boss Rene Girard scuppered them earlier this month, as per Gerard Brand of MailOnline.
Due to Lille's aforementioned troubles in Ligue 1 and especially in front of goal, it's highly unlikely they would entertain letting their star striker leave them midseason.
When you analyse Origi's game, what becomes clear is that the teenager is far from the finished product, and calls for him to be recalled early this January seem a little premature. He would be best off remaining at Lille, continuing his development by playing regular football.
Origi is clearly a very talented player, but Liverpool fans must be patient and wait until next season, leaving him to arrive as a more rounded player.
