Pakistan vs. New Zealand, 1st Test, Day 5: Highlights, Scorecard and Report
Pakistan drew first blood in their series with New Zealand, as they took little over an hour of Day 5 to wrap up a crushing 248-run victory in the first Test in Abu Dhabi—handing skipper Misbah-ul-Haq a place in the record books. Gumshuda Umpire of SportPulse tweeted a congratulatory message for Misbah regarding his history-making performance:

New Zealand began the day needing to bat out 90 overs to force a draw, but that looked unlikely in the extreme with only two wickets in hand, both of which were tailenders.
It looked set to be a rapid end to the day, as a the leg-spin of Yasir Shah beat Mark Craig with the second ball of the day.
However, Ish Sodhi—who also batted with determination and purpose in the first innings—found a willing ally in Trent Boult and the pair put on a half-century stand.
Sodhi was the dominant figure, as he played superbly off front and back foot and scored a deserved half-century.
Pakistan regrouped at drinks and shortly afterward Imran Khan trapped Sodhi leg before wicket for 63.
Sodhi delayed the Pakistan celebrations, but the replays showed the ball would have hit the stumps—which allowed skipper Misbah to welcome in his 15th Test win as captain.

Pakistan have turned Abu Dhabi into something of a fortress in recent Tests, with this being their third win on the spin following the demolition of Australia, meaning New Zealand will have to up their game ahead of the second Test which starts on Monday.
Their key batsmen, Brendon McCullum and Ross Taylor in particular, will have to find form if the Black Caps are to avoid a second mauling.
